Currently on my knitting needles:

I'm knitting up a new sweater for my youngest, Audrey.  Her second birthday is coming up and since I previously knit her a sweater to celebrate her birth and one to celebrate her first birthday, I wanted to keep the tradition alive.  My husband requested she have a sweater with a hood and we finally decided on Wee Ambrosia by Gudrun Johnson.  This is a bottom up sweater and I've finished the body up to joining the sleeves.  I hope to have the sleeves finished in the next few days!

I am also working on a brand new pair of socks for myself.  I'm just making up the pattern but I'm using this project to learn two at a time socks.  I have mixed feelings about it so far.  It will be so nice to have a complete pair finished at once, but boy, it sure is fiddly and tangly!

I have to recently finished objects to share today as well!  First up is my Color Affection shawl by Veera Valimaki.  This was such a great knit because it was so easy to just set down and pick up a few days later, or to knit on while watching a movie.  In the end, it felt like each row lasted forever so I'm glad to finally have it done!!

I also finished a hat for Buckaloo View's Mystery Hat Swap.  The basic idea is that you are knitting a hat for someone else while they knit one for you.  We weren't told who our partners were and were only given a few hints as to what they liked.  I ended up choosing the Greyhaven Hat pattern by Robin Ulrich.  I LOVE the finished hat and will definitely be making one for myself!  I also used to Brooklyn Tweed Shelter for the first time and I definitely had mixed emotions.  I was so excited to finally  try it because I've heard so many good things about it.  The skeins are quite small and a little spendy for the yardage but I thought this would be a great time to try it out.  Unfortunately, it felt very rough on my fingers as I knit and all the leftover bits of hay/twigs/straw/whatever it was that was stuck in the yarn really bothered me.  I did like the final product though and can see how it would be perfect for a sweater since it's so lightweight while still being warm.  The jury is still out as to wether or not I'll buy it again.
